Fail-proof chocolate chip cookie recipe

cookie

As promised, my go to chocolate chip cookie recipe, just in time for the weekend! I usually make my cheat day on Sunday’s, so baking is a must 🙂 I’ve been using this recipe for many years and it hasn’t failed me once! I will sometimes substitute chocolate chips for M&M’s or both too.

What You Need

1-3/4 cups flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 pkg  Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips or M&M’s (or both!)

Preheat oven to 375°F. Mix flour, baking soda and salt until well blended; set aside.

Beat butter and sugars in large bowl with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat until well blended. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing well after each addition. Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper.

Bake 12 to 13 min. or until lightly browned. Cool on baking sheets 1 min. Remove to wire racks; cool completely. Serve immediately. (Or, wrap cooled cookies in plastic wrap and place in tightly covered container or resealable plastic bag. Freeze up to 1 month. Thaw at room temperature before serving.)

Side note: If you want a more dense cookie, chill cookie dough for about 30 minutes before baking. I can never wait that long, so mine usually come out a little flat, and I’m ok with that 😉

Let me know how you like them!!

XO,

Mary ♥
