Last week I had the pleasure of attending a VH1 Save the music fundraiser called Musically Mastered Menu Dinner. I went with my friend and fellow blogger, Kasey from Running in Heels, and we had the best time! I had never been to one of these fundraiser’s and was not expecting to have this much fun AND have one of the best meals I’ve had in my life. No joke. Chef Tre Wilcox prepared the most amazing four-course meal and, you guys, it was amazing. The menu was inspired by the music of Nathan Sykes, who sang 3 awesome songs at the beginning of the night. So, pretty much the best night all around!
VH1 Save the Music is such a great program. I actually knew nothing about the foundation and was so surprised at hearing all they do to restore music programs in America’s public schools. In Texas alone, VH1 Save The Music has partnered with 132 public schools to provide all-new instrumental music programs. It is such a great foundation. One I can definitely get behind, especially being the mom of 2 young girls and knowing the value and importance of music for a child. It can be life changing!
We started off the night hearing music from Nathan, and I LOVED his music so much! I wish he could’ve played the whole night! Then Chef Tre did a demo with Nathan preparing sea scallops and gave us some tips on how to properly cook them.
Next came the food, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I wish I could explain how good the scallops were. They were so buttery and cooked to perfection and had THE most amazing sauce to compliment them. I could’ve just stopped there and gone home at that point, because I felt like I had already had a great meal, but nope, it continued! You guys, the beef tenderloin with chipotle jack cheese grits, UNREAL. I almost feel like we need a moment of silence for it. Not even kidding. I literally licked my plate. Yes, I am THAT classy. Then to top it all off, we had an out of this world dessert. Cardamom chili pannacotta, I don’t even know what that is, but it’s amazing!!! It was the best meal and I got to socialize with some pretty great people too, which made it even better. Overall, it was a great event and I’m so glad I went!
How cute is Kasey?! Everyone go check out her blog! You will not be disappointed! Also, if you are ever in the Dallas area, do yourself a favor and take a cooking class with Chef Tre. Your life will be made. Also, visit the VH1 Save the Music event website and see if there’s an upcoming event in your area!
Have a great day, everyone!
