If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a story of mine a few weeks ago saying I wanted to add some new elements to my blog that weren’t centered around me so much, but rather inspiration from elsewhere. I am SO excited to be starting that series today!!
My blog thus far has been solely based on my style, with some random home and mom life peppered in. I do love clothes and styling outfits, but there are so many other things I love too. There’s also SO many places (and people) I get inspiration from. My goal is to feature one person, place, or thing a month that is currently inspiring me. It could range from a beautiful sunset, to a recipe, to an outfit on a friend that I loved. I hope you’ll love these new posts!!
My Friend Tracy
Two weeks ago I was sitting in church and my friend Tracy sat down behind me and I was taken aback at her outfit. For 2 reasons:
1. She looked AMAZING and the outfit was killer!
2. I normally haven’t seen Tracy in skirts or dresses too often, and I loved seeing her rock it!
I remember being at a kiddo birthday party a few months ago with her, and she was telling me that she loved how other people would always wear dresses to casual events and that she wanted to start wearing more skirts and dresses, but she never felt comfortable wearing them because she felt like it was too dressy for her. So, when I saw her wearing this outfit, I loved it extra because she was rocking it AND looked freaking fantastic!!
While we were sitting there before church started, she was telling me that she decided she was going to wear what she wanted, regardless of how she felt she looked, or how other people would see her. That she was going to rock her clothes no matter how she felt about her body at the time. Which I LOVE and couldn’t agree more!!! I mean, looking at her pics, you think “She is the cutest thing on earth!!!” Right?! But we ALL have insecurities! Mine is my stomach pooch. But myself, like Tracy, I’m done worrying about it. Until it goes away, I’m gonna wear what I want.
She continued to say, “We all deal with insecurities on various levels. You are highlighting in your own mind what your worst things are, and then you magnify it in your head. When really no one is looking at you like that. Even if they do, it doesn’t matter. I got to the point where I was like, nobody cares. I just want to have fun and be who I am, cause when you look back on your life, you want to remember having fun and not being worried about that stuff! Your outfit looks better when you’re confident in it. If you love yourself, it shows. Don’t think about yourself so much, just do it. Wear what you want! Everyone is only thinking about themselves anyway. When someone sees a flaw in me, that makes me so much more relatable. Like, Oh thank God, they’re normal!”
I literally couldn’t agree more with what she said. Amen amen amen!!! Exactly what my passion is for this blog and what I want all women to feel. Life is too short to worry about our little imperfections. Especially when we have kids. That time is too precious to spend dwelling on that stuff. Lets build ourselves up, and have that radiate out of us towards others!
Do you guys see why I wanted her to be my first feature?! Not only is her outfit amazing, but SHE is amazing 🙂 Her outfit is all affordable, as well. Her skirt is from TJ Maxx, Tee from H&M, Wedges from Marshalls, and Sunnies from H&M.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post and are Ok with more posts like this! Don’t hesitate to leave a comment below with any thoughts or feedback!!
Thanks to Tracy for being on my blog and for being such an inspiration to me! ♥

Thanks K!! I’m so excited for this new series 🙌🏼
Tracy truly was the perfect person to have to start off this series! I love everything she said and truly couldn’t agree more. It’s SO easy to focus on those insecurities we have, it’s human nature. BUT, wow that is so true… most people are not even paying attention to your own insecurities you are obsessing over on the inside.
I truly loved this blog post and can’t wait until next month. I definitely took away some information from this, such an inspiration for sure!
